Tally for macOS

Need a hand with Tally? You're in the right place.

Tally is a small macOS menu-bar app that shows your Claude.ai session and weekly usage as live rings and alerts you before you hit a limit. If something isn't working or you have a question, reach out and we'll help.

Common questions

How do I sign in?

Open Tally from the menu bar and choose Sign in. A Claude.ai login window appears — log in with your own Claude account exactly as you would on the web. Tally then reads your usage automatically. Your session is stored only on your Mac, in the macOS Keychain.

Tally says my session expired

Claude.ai sessions expire periodically. Just open Tally and sign in again to refresh it.

Which plans are supported?

Tally is built for individual Pro and Max plans. Team and Enterprise accounts are governed by org-level seat policies that the app does not model.

My usage numbers look off

Tally reads the same usage data Claude.ai shows in its web app, polled every 30 seconds with backoff. Brief differences can occur around window resets; they catch up on the next refresh. Figures may not always match Anthropic's own accounting exactly.

How do I update the app?

If you installed from the Mac App Store, updates arrive automatically through the App Store. If you installed the .dmg from our website, Tally checks for updates itself and will offer to install new versions.

How do I uninstall?

Quit Tally, then drag it from your Applications folder to the Trash. Signing out first clears your stored Claude.ai session from the Keychain.

Privacy & terms

Tally keeps your data on your device and does not collect or sell it. See our Privacy Policy and Terms for details.
